The Palio!
We successfully recreated Il Palio di
Siena at Three Fox at Saturday, July 18th!
We
had jockeys, we had horses, we had enthusiastic fans and, most importantly, we
had a great time!
There
were all the thrills of
right next to the cheering fans, and we even
had some spills!
Yes,
we actually had a couple jockeys get ‘thrown’ from their horse.
We
thank all the jockeys who took on the challenge of racing on our
track and we appreciate all the fans who
cheered them on to the finish.
We
ran three races throughout the afternoon, with four horses in each race.
The
jockeys had to stay mounted throughout the race and still have
water in their wine glass as they crossed the
finish line.
The
winning jockey won the coveted $50 cash prize and
his or her fans got to enjoy a 10% discount
on wine!
It was a terrific day and we look forward
to running the Palio again next summer.
